Nanny/ Manny Brigade
The Nanny/Manny Brigade is a group of volunteers who are willing to be a positive influence on children that are coming into Cobb County Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) custody.
When a child is taken into State Custody, it can be terrifying. Most of the time, they must wait at the DFCS office until they are placed with a foster home. Our volunteers supervise and befriend children for a morning or afternoon on that critical day.
Our volunteers also support the DFCS staff by caring for children who are waiting in the office for visitation with their parents and during family meetings conducted at the DFCS office.
To provide assistance with foster children by providing a positive, caring environment for children who have just been brought into State Custody.
To support the Cobb County DFCS Staff and the Cobb County Foster Parents during intake, court proceedings and training activities of Foster Parents.
To volunteer is to give of yourself in service to a cause. It is about freely giving your time to help an organization, your community, or an individual. Down 7 Up 8 Inc. would be glad to have you as a volunteer.
